Ever since buying my favorite floral sweater from Anthropologie last year, I've had an itch to buy up more flowery tops. These eye-catching patterns are feminine and colorful, and designers and stores are offering plenty of darker, long-sleeved options for the colder seasons ahead. Now that Topshop has opened up on Michigan Avenue, I'm thinking that will be my first stop!

One of Those Perfect Fall Weekends

This past weekend, a few of us piled into my small car and ventured to the great town of Hobart, Indiana, the Paris of America. (Any Leslie Knope fans out there?) Therein lies County Line Orchard, complete with apple picking, pumpkin patches, two corn mazes, live bluegrass music, fresh donuts, jams, mustard, candy apples, and spices, as far as the eye can see. Sure the corn maze was a bit... lame. Not much of a maze at all, really. Perhaps had we gone a month ago when the stalks were fuller and taller, it would have been a bit more of a challenge. Instead we found ourselves dodging the marshy wet patches of mud rather than trying to find our way out. And yes, the pumpkin patch kind of looked like someone just dumped a bunch of pumpkins on the field... which is probably exactly what happened. But it was charming, beautiful, and we all left agreeing it was a fun time! The live bluegrass band that played while we had lunch was probably my favorite part. I'd encourage anyone in the Chicago area to take the trip one of these weekends before it's too cold. It's only an hour outside the city, and pumpkins are a fraction of the price they are at your local market. My 23-pounder was only $8! I kinda sorta found the biggest one I could... it was awesome.

Pretty Please Help Me Find These Shelves

The stark contrast of these natural wood shelves against a white wall has always left an impression on me. It's such a clean, rustic look, and I've thought about recreating a similar scene in my own home.

Then I saw the exact same thing in my local Starbucks - excuse the blurry iPhone photo - and now I'm convinced. I need this! Two short reclaimed wooden shelves with white pottery pieces stacked on top to nestle above my kitchen sink. Oh so good.

So readers, anyone have a suggestion or source for where I can find something similar? I'm clearly not looking in the right places nor do I know what to Google search. Help!

I was so excited to work with Refinery29 on my latest project: styling the typical awkwardly small Chicago bedroom two ways to make it useful. I used my teensy home office as the stage and restyled it to show how the same space could work as a functional dressing room and closet.

For realz. I cannot get enough of this talented Florida designer's portfolio. The soft color palettes whisper sweet nothings into my ears, leaving me yearning for teal cabinets, marble bathrooms, all-white rooms, and loaves of bread strewn about my kitchen. And then there's the lighting. Apparently this gal wrote the book on picking out lighting. Whether it's pendants in the kitchen, sconces in the bedroom, or lamps in the living space, Erika's lighting choices knock my socks off time and time again.
