So I figured I'd snap a few good photos not with a camera phone to better paint the picture of how this space is coming together...
Not too shabby!
Not entirely sure what I want to do with my desk chair. If I keep it I desperately have to re-cushion and recover the seat. It feels like I'm sitting on a piece of plywood for 10 hours a day. Also not sure I want to keep the pink in the office area or just go completely neutral in these rooms (entry, living, work, and dining). I'm thinking neutral. Also not sure if I want to even attempt to hide the kitchen floor. The tile is pretty grimy... I was thinking a gold speckled hide. Or something soft in color like this one from Lulu and Georgia. But I'm worried it'll be too many rugs at the point. And I'm not sure how comfortable I'd really be having animal skin. Faux hides exist right? I need to look into that.
That's all for now, folks!

It's looking GORGEOUS! I love the pop of pink in the office and that little table was perfect for hiding the printer. Can't wait to see an official tour... hopefully soon?

Wow I am drooling over this office! It's so crisp and clean but also homey and feminine at the same time. I'm currently getting my own office space together and while it's got a bit of a different vibe I may have to take some cues from your work!
ReplyDeleteI have seen faux hides - they definitely exist, but are a smudge pricey. It is lovely as always - I myself like the blush pink. :)
ReplyDeletewhere are the curtain rods from?
ReplyDeleteIt's in the "get the look" scroll menu at the bottom of the post, it's west elm. :)
DeleteI finally stepped up to the cowhide rug trend and do not regret it one bit. I live with a man and two dogs: I definitely needed something durable. I ordered from http://cowhidesinternational.com/. Their prices beat Lulu & Georgia and their hides are similarly sourced. I wear leather shoes, own a leather coat and eat meat - so the hide doesn't bother me. Besides, it looks fantastic, is easy to clean and may never wear out!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so great!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Alaina! I love your ladyplace. I also dig adding a cow hide to the kitchen. By far IKEA has the best price on cow hides and they come in several colors. I would definitely check your local store before going with Lula & Georgia. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Your first line cracked me up. The space is coming together nicely.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. Love how airy and light it is.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the lamp from?
i think it looks great! and i love the idea of the cowhide for under the table! i want one for my space but with less than 200sq ft, i can only have one rug.
ReplyDeleteHe is able who thinks he's able.
ReplyDeleteThat little shelf is perfect! Looks great, lady.
