In light of the recent tragedy that has touched all of us in blogland, I've spent a lot of time thinking about how I spend my time. As we all know, life is short, too short, really, and it can change in an instant. Everyone always says, "live each day to the fullest," but sometimes that can be difficult when you sit in a cubicle for eight hours or are having trouble making ends meet. We spend more time making plans and dreaming of what can be instead of actually living, being, and doing. Fortunately, I believe living to the fullest doesn't have to be grandiose. It can be simple.
For me, I just have to follow a few simple instructions.

ReplyDeleteGreat post - we all need to be reminded of this sometimes. Live in the moment & treat others how youd want to be treated & dont forget to 'really' love the people you love.

Nice post......especially in light of the terrible news, I've been trying to take an extra effort to spontaneously kiss my son and husband telling them how much I love them. It feels good to be able to do that!!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful post - such true words.
ReplyDeletethanks alaina, your list is lovely. on june the 22nd, my beautiful husband suffered a massive bleed to the brain, it was a total freak thing. he is still with us and on his way to recovery. however, in those dark days when he was in the intensive care unit fighting for his life, the only comfort i had was the fact that i knew he had packed more into his 40 odd years than most humans, that he had lived a full life building an existence and had made the most of every single minute. now it looks like he'll be here to live some more, it's scary to think how much larger his life will be as a result of this life changing experience!
