What about you–would you sport fresh flowers in your hair?
Reminds me of this darling little tune by The Lumineers, coincidentally titled... pause for shock "Flowers in Your Hair."
And the lyrics are the perfect amount of heart-warming goodness:
When we were younger
we thought Everyone was on our side
Then we grew a little bit
And romanticized the time I saw
Flowers in your hair
It takes a boy to live
It takes a man to pretend he was there
So then we grew a little and knew a lot
And now we demonstrated it to the cops
And all the things we said
We were self-assured
Cause it's a long road to wisdom
But it's a short one
To being ignored
Be in my eyes
Be in my heart
Be in my eyes ai yai yai
And be in my heart
So now I think that I could
Love you back
And I hope it's not too late cause you're so attractive
And the way you move
I won't close my eyes
It takes a man to live
It takes a woman to make him compromise
Be in my eyes
Be in my heart
Be in my eyes ai yai yai
And be in my heart
My aunt wears flowers in her hair all the time. Its a very pretty look! I think you should be yourself go for it! I'll start the trend in D.C. if that would help :)
ReplyDeleteI feel like its one of those things that everyone says nobody could pull off but then whoever does test it out gets showered with compliments. I would definitely go for it with a breezy sundress!
ReplyDeleteI have never done it, but I think it would look very lovely. Especially in the summer :)
ReplyDeleteThis totally just brightened my morning! I love the look, it's so feminine and unexpected.

I wear flowers in my hair occasionally, fresh or fake, summer or winter, to brunch or even a nightclub :P I'm not particularly eccentric or bohemian either, just your average (everygirl!) urban-suburban fashion-obsessed twenty-something. It's a whimsical thing really, like wearing a floppy hat or red lipstick when you don't really see anyone else doing it. Sometimes people will comment but honestly it's no big deal... if anything you'll be complimented! So wear flowers in your hair if you want to and enjoy the hell out of doing so, regardless of what other people think or do. The end! :D
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I would totally rock it.
