Oh that is tough. I deal with this all the time. We still have not bought our office desk and bookshelf -most likely b/c I keep buying shoes! I may have to go with the sofa this time.
Oh, the chesterfield is the one thing that can stand up to a Chanel for me! I adore fashion & furniture so this is a common dilemna. I'd save a little for both but will probably cave for the Chanel purse first and wait slightly longer for the sofa. Ending up with both eventually is the plan right?!
This is easy, Chanel bag hands down. I adore mine and know that it will be in my wardrobe forever. The sofa, I bet you already have one and it works so a new one can wait, no? Have a great weekend.

This is a VERY tough choice, but I'd have to go for the classic Chanel! That brown masculine sofa wouldn't look right in my house. Perhaps if the sofa were white, I'd reconsider...
Ha! Great post! It's all quite relative. In the case of Chanel, you may surprised that the resale value may top that of the sofa, if you wait long enough. But then again, after a certain age, the bag splurges get less exciting...trust me.
I think I would have to say the sofa (in a pretty gray... mmm). I love Chanel and appreciate a classic, but I doubt I could look my sweetheart in the eye if I paid that much for a purse that only I get to enjoy :)
Sofa, for sure. Normally I'm not into "masculine" decor, but I love the leather and tufting of a good old, worn in chesterfield!

Chanel Bag, no doubt. The sofa doesn't look cozy to me. I can't see myself calling in sick and watching guilty pleasure tv all day on that sofa. ;)
