Catchy post title, eh? Well, I have an obsession. I cannot get enough of silk blouses right now. They must be the most conservative article of clothing that still manages to look über sexy on a lady. Something about the way the soft material falls fluidly over the body, draping over curves instead of hiding them. And it looks just as good in neutral hues as it does vibrant brights.
And I found the perfect style: J.Crew's Lucinda blouse is my favorite item on the market right now. The ruched detailing on the shoulders and sleeves adds a sweet feminine touch to this classic tailored shape. I want one in each color! The $98 price tag is a little steep, but I think I'll wear this enough to justify the cost. (Keep telling yourself that, Alaina.)
Looove the silk blouse! I bought a bright turquoise one a while back and it's been neglected in the back of my closet - this post has inspired me to bring it back out and let it see the light of day!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the green silk blouse paired with white shorts :)

love those classic and minimal silk blouses, want them in all colors! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThey are so sexy while still being conservative, you are right! I really love that bright red color, so sharp looking.
ReplyDeletegah! I know! these babies had me at hello. I can only POSSIBLY afford one, so i'm debating which color I should invest in.
ReplyDeleteI am also obsessed with silk blouses! I can't get enough of them even though I have so many. Love the fall jcrew version of the Lucinda (esp the pale blue and flame ones!) I'm sure they'll go on sale at some point (I got one of the summer versions for $30 down from $99!) but I don't want to risk losing out on my size and color...ahh the dilemma ;)

Just yesterday I placed an order for an ivory silk Equipment blouse after lusting for a year. If I had $1 for every time I wanted to wear it, it would have already paid for itself.
ReplyDeleteThey are my summer obsession for work wear and the only thing that is bearable on my skin in this heat. I need to head to Jcrew to check it out although I'm pretty sure I'll be "justifying" the purchase too.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I totally want one!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Now totally want one. And you know, $98 is doable. Better than the cheetah flats that I covet!
ReplyDeleteI think silk blouses are so classic and pretty. With this heat [and can we say MAJOR Humidity] we have going on right now though.... it wouldn't be so silky on me after wearing it.
ReplyDeleteI am with you---I think I need a silk blouse pronto!
ReplyDeleteI love silk blouses especially in the summer. I really liked the red-orange one you posted, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI am always on the search for the perfect one!

oh man i want the first 2! ...you just created a new lust in me.
ReplyDeleteahhh I have been obsessing over this blouse as well! saw one at Gap that was almost as cute, for a lot less money, and I think I might just have to snag it!
ReplyDeleteThis just might be what I've been looking for! I'm petite, but want to wear collared blouses; and each time I find one, they are so boxy or stiff that I look stumpy! Might have to try these out. Thanks for the post.
