Today is one of a rare breed. The world finds themselves once again united, fortunately this time, by celebration and hope. People of different ethnicity, religion, culture, and age are agreeing instead of arguing, as a seemingly unattainable mission succeeded under the direction of our President. Of course this does not mean the end of terrorism or Al-Qaeda forces. That goes without saying. But to eliminate a group's charismatic leader - CNN's apt word choice in describing Bin Laden - cripples any cause. I believe European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek said it best, "We have woken up in a more secure world." Happy May 2011, everyone.
And Mr. President, you rock.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I both feel like a weight is lifted off our shoulders. We both served multiples tours in Iraq [we were never there at the same time though, darn!] so it almost feels like it has all come to a close, even though in reality this is far from over but it is one of those moments that we will never forget. Thank you for posting this! :)

ReplyDeleteAmen!! I agree---such great news. Love your choice of photos!
ReplyDeletesuch great news, and i also thought it was thoughtful of the president to call president bush and get his response. if it weren't for him, he would most likely still be out there. horray presidents, you're awesome! God bless the USA.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty shocked when i heard this and I think credit is due to Obama for the way he approached all of this. However I don't condone death of any kind...so this was a bit of an odd thing for me. In fact I just cant rejoice in it. Nonetheless, what's done is done and I'm certain God will be the ultimate judge in the end :)

I somehow got sucked into all the news reports about this baby cheetah and the puppy that is now its companion. I'm powerless to their cuteness.
